Attribution theory concept and meaning

The theory was proposed in relation to the word attribution which is a process by which individuals explain the concepts of certain behavior and events and their causes. According to Fiske and Taylor, “Attribution theory deals with how the social perceiver uses the information to arrive at causal explanations for events. It examines what information is gathered and how it is combined to form a casual judgment.” Through this theory one gets to know why is the other doing a particular thing or event and how is it done. Every observation and analysis differs each time because every human brain is structured in a unique way and so functions differently.
